For me, it's so much easier to keep my health in check with some good self-care. Without giving myself the self-care I need, I feel disconnected not only from my self, but from the world around me. Check out some of these self-care favorites that you can find here on the internet, or even in the Des Moines metro.

The Calm App

I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoy the Calm app. The app has so much to offer.  I discovered this app when I was in chiropractic school. I'd meditate before an exam, or before I went into the clinic to see patients as an intern.

It helped me to relax my mind with it's eye soothing animated images, (with great nature sounds!) mood refreshing stories, and breathing exercises. It provides daily meditation programs that can be as short or as long as you prefer. I learned how to meditate thanks to this app.

Adamantine Yoga - Downtown DSM

I cannot begin to explain how my regular practice down at Adamantine Yoga has transformed my life. But, what I can say is that by practicing Adamantine I feel that my mobility, pliability, and strength has increased overall. On a spiritual level, I feel this is the perfect addition to my morning routine of taking care of my body, mind, and spirit. I walk out after practicing feeling grounded, peaceful, and ready to take on whatever occurs in my day.

The Five-Minute Journal - by Intelligent Change

I discovered The Five-Minute Journal last spring when I was looking to stay accountable with incorporating more gratitude in my life.

The prompts are super simple and easy, and I’d keep it on my nightstand. I did this so first thing in the morning, I could immediately answer the prompts in the morning, and then get ready for my day. Then when I was getting ready for bed and in reflection mode, I could answer the evening prompts before I drifted off to sleep. It’s actually what I’m using in the photo at the top of the page.
